Cryo-Cleaner® System

Patented cryogenic cleaning without soaps, solvents, or water

The Cryo-Cleaner® System cleans metal and plastic containers using cryogenic technology instead of soaps, solvents, or water.

This process helps remove hard-to-handle residues such as mastics, paints, resins, adhesives, and other materials in an environmentally responsible and cost-effective way.

Benefits include reduced operating costs, improved environmental compliance, safer working conditions, residue recovery, container recycling, and reduced RCRA liability.

  • Cryogenic removal helps recapture remaining fluid residue from the drum for recycling.
  • Because no cleaning fluid is added, the removed residue is not mixed with soaps, solvents, or water. In many cases, the recovered residue can be reused, recycled, or disposed of more economically.

Cryogenic Container Cleaning

Clean metal or plastic containers without using soaps, solvents, or water with Drumbeaters’ patented cryogenic cleaning system.

Using the science of cryogenics, the system removes residues from drums and pails while reducing the amount of waste generated during the cleaning process.

Cleaner Process, Less Waste

Because no cleaning fluid is added, the removed residue is not mixed with soaps, solvents, or water. In many cases, the recovered residue can be reused, recycled, or disposed of more economically.

Container Recovery

Frozen plastic containers may be broken into smaller pieces for more economical disposal or recycling. Metal drums can often be crushed and recycled after residue removal.

What are the benefits of a Cryo-Cleaner® system?

  • No Residue Contamination From The Cleaning Process: Residues are removed without soaps, solvents, or water, helping keep the recovered residue reusable or easier to dispose of.
  • Clean Air: Cold temperatures suppress many VOCs during residue removal, reducing the need for special ventilation equipment.
  • Waste Stream Not Increased: The process does not add cleaning agents to the waste stream.
  • Worker Safety: Workers are not exposed to splashing cleaning fluids or unnecessary fumes during the process.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Liquid nitrogen returns to the atmosphere and does not contaminate water, air, streams, rivers, or aquifers.
  • Non-Combustible & Non-Corrosive: Nitrogen is inert and is not combustible or corrosive like many cleaning agents.
  • Recycle Containers: Drums and pails can often be crushed, recycled, or prepared for reuse after cleaning.

Cryo-Cleaner® Gallery & Case Studies

GRK 830 Black Dispersion

By cryogenically freezing the drum, the Black Dispersion material can be removed without soaps, solvents, or water and reused in the manufacturing process.

Henkel Technomelt Pur 798A

Cryogenic freezing helped remove hardened urethane adhesive from metal drums, allowing the adhesive to be recovered and the drum to be crushed and recycled.

Dynacoll 7320 Residue in Drum

Dynacoll residue hardened and adhered to the side wall and bottom of a drum. Cryogenic removal allowed the material and drum to be recycled.

Dynacoll 7250 Residue in Drum

Cryogenic removal helped recapture remaining fluid residue from the drum for recycling.
